12/2007: The Weinsteins decide to re-shoot some scenes and remove the cancer subplot. Instead of Kyle Newman, they hire director Steve Brill (Drillbit Taylor) for this and re-shoot  the Harry Knowles scene, the Skywalker Ranch scenes and the Movie Theater Episode 1 Premier scenes in Los Angeles.

1/2008: Stop Darth Weinstein campaign, to boycott the Weinstein Company from changing the storyline of the movie.

1/2008:  Focus Group Test screening of Original version in Burbank, CA

1/28/2008:  Rumored release date.  Didn't happen.

3/2008: Original Director Kyle Newman is allowed to re-edit the cancer subplot back in to the movie.

7/2008: New release with cancer story line re-added screened at San Diego Comic Con with great reaction

9/18/2008: Special screening of Final version at Austin Fantastic Film Festival. Melanie and I were invited to go and it was great!

2/5/2009: SHOCKER!  Fanboys premieres on a limited release schedule in only certain theaters across the country.

3/13/2009: Fanboys opens in Albuquerque at the Century 14 Downtown Theater!
 

5/19/2009:  Fanboys comes out on DVD!
